FYI-Delaware Avenue is being resurfaced

Penn DOT is resurfacing Delaware Ave from Mauch Chunk Road to Rt. 248. Since last Thursday, no additional work has been done in front of the shop and parking has not been restricted. Unfortunately, Penn DOT is not providing shop owners with a work schedule. So, if walking from a side street is a problem for you, I suggest calling the shop the day you are planning to visit and I can give you a status report.

New Shop Hours
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10am to 5pm.
Saturdays from 10 am to 3pm

No appointments are necessary, but as a courtesy to your fellow quilters who may be at a higher risk, please wear your mask upon entering the shop and practice sew-cial distancing. Thanks.

Classes

Beginning  Quilting by Machine Graduate Program

This program has been designed for the graduates of the Beginning Quilting by Machine class, or anyone who has mastered the beginning quilting skills. It will build on the skills taught in this class and expand your knowledge beyond the Nine Patch and Monkey Wrench blocks. The new techniques include 8 HST's at a time, triple triangle squares, hourglass squares, diamond in a square, 4 flying geese at a time, and the use of templates.

Each week you will learn how to make two different 12" blocks. If you make the blocks from the same coordinating fabrics, you will have blocks for a beautiful Sampler Quilt at the end of the 5 weeks.
You can use your stash or purchase the fabrics from the shop. As always 10% Class Discount is applied to  fabric & supplies purchased for the class. There is one spot remaining.

Five week class  - Tuesday September 15th- Tuesday October 13th
from 1pm to 3 pm
Instructor: Cindy Mengel-Smith
Class fee: $60 (includes block patterns)

Pre-work required, call the shop to register.

Transitional Block Workshop
Using fabrics from your stash, you will learn how to transform a four patch block, a nine patch block, and a pinwheel block into totally different looking blocks just by cutting them into pieces, rearranging, then sewing them back together!

Wednesday September 16th from 1pm to 2:30 pm
Instructor: Cindy Mengel-Smith
Class fee:$10 (includes handout)

This workshop is full, but second class will be scheduled if there is an interest.

                    New Facebook Page!
Due to a communication glitch, I had to delete the shop Facebook page and create a new one. Please go to the shop's web page at www.the-quiltedcrow.com and click on the Facebook button in the upper right hand corner to like us. Thanks!

                      What Else Are You Making?
Now that the shop is open, quilters have been bring in their "quarantine" creations to share.  Below is Barb Skiffington's stunning Clockworx quilt made using Judy Niemeyer's pattern.

Also, below is Cherie Troester's "Heritage Hankies" wall hanging. The 12 hankies feature crochet, tatting, embroidery or lace hem done by her grandmother, aunts and cousins. They are tucked under the appliqued cups & saucers - plus 1 draping out of the central basket.
