04-23-2020 Quilters Trek coming soon!

                                               June 21st to August 31st

The Row by Row experience has transitioned into Quilters Trek, a new color-guided shopping adventure for quilters. Quilters Trek is similar to the Row by Row program, but with fresh new features.
The theme is a color! True Blue for 2020.
Shops will offer kits designed with predominantly blue fabric. This allows quilters to create quilts that are more pleasing and cohesive.
The shops will create "designs" (not rows). Four 9-inch (finished size) blocks that can be arranged as a row or as an 18-inch square. Shops will give away the block pattern for their design to anyone who comes in their store. Shops will sell kits which contain the fabric for the four blocks.
Kits will be sold in-store ONLY. Patterns are given in-store ONLY during the event.
Each kit will have a Fabric Token hidden inside the kit - like a cracker jack prize. In addition, each shop will receive 3 Golden Tokens (also 2-1/2 inch fabric squares). Finders of Golden Tokens will be featured on the new Golden Selfie Facebook page.

Rules to win are a little different. Quilter must complete a quilt (quilted, bound, labeled) using 32 nine-inch block designs from at least 8 participating shops, which means 4 blocks from each shop. After that they can include whatever they want… even rows from previous RxR years.
Each shop will offer a prize of 15 fat quarters plus a bonus prize if the quilt includes the shop’s blocks to 2 different quilters!

Even though this is 2months away, I wanted to give you something happy to think about!!

Thank You!
This week 265 masks were delivered to the shop! The masks have been distributed to the Lehigh Valley and Saint Luke's Hospitals in Allentown & Lehighton, the Lehigh Valley & St. Luke's Hospital express care facilities and the Geisinger Hospital in Orwigsburg.

What Else Are You Making?
I know many of you are making masks, but hopefully you are also taking the time to
work on your UFO's!  Below are pictures of a great purse one customer made from the shop's new chameleon fabric collection.

Although we cannot physically get together for show and tell,  we can still share our creations. Send me a picture of your project and I will post it  in this space to inspire your fellow quilters and make them happy.

Shop Status
Due to the Governor's mandate the shop is closed until the ban is lifted.  I will in the shop Tuesday through Thursday from 10am to 5pm to fill web and phone orders and sew masks. Much of the shop's fabric is posted on our website for your viewing pleasure. If you need something, please call ahead and we can arrange for a curb side pick-up or I can mail the item to you.

Hospitals & Nursing Homes Need Your Help!
The need for masks continues for our hospitals and nursing homes.  So I am asking you to get out your stash and make masks!

If you do not have the stash to spare,
a generous quilter is willing to donate kits containing pre-cut fabric to make masks following the video tutorial seen at the Missouri Star Quilt company for the rectangular pleated masks with ties.  Each kit will have enough material to make 6 masks.  If you need a kit, please email the shop at qcrow@ptd.net to make arrangements for pick-up.

The shop will be a drop-off site for the masks. Please put them in a plastic bag and set them on the shop's porch during the day on a Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday so I am sure to see them.  I will distribute them to the nursing homes and hospitals that have contacted me.

If you live in the Lehigh Valley you can deliver your masks to the Lehigh Valley Hospital at 2024 Lehigh St. Allentown, Monday- Friday between 9am and 3pm.

Deb Ranck and a group of quilters are still sewing masks. Because of the "Stay at Home" mandate, they are sewing in their homes, instead of meeting at the Heritage Center. The word of their work has spread and they are now receiving orders from medical centers for masks.  Consequently, the ladies need donations of cotton or cotton/poly fabric. If you can help please, contact Deb at 484-425-0255 or email at quilterdebra@windstream.net

Stay Calm and Make Masks!
