3/23/17 - Spring 2017 Mystery Quilt is here!

*NEW*  Mystery Quilt - Spring 2017  *NEW*

Hello fellow Quilted Crow Inspectors (QCI)!  It is time to shake out the cobwebs and put on our sleuth caps!  This twin/lap size Mystery Quilt is 64" x 72", perfect to keep of the chill of the early summer evenings!  If you love large to medium prints, that you can use as is or fussy cut, choose one for your feature fabric.  If you do not like large/medium prints do not despair, this will be equally beautiful with a small print tone on tone.  Directional fabrics are not recommended for this pattern.  Note:  your inner and outer borders do not need to be made from the Coordinate 2 and Feature fabrics.  You may want to wait until the top is together before picking these fabrics.

So don your sleuth cap and let the detective work begin!
-Sherlock Sue

The pre-clue will be ready to be picked up or emailed on April 1st with your $10 payment.  There is no charge for additional clues as long as you have completed the previous clue.  More information coming next week...

~Quilts of Valor work session this Saturday~

The local chapter of Quilts of Valor which meets at the Crow is known as "The Quilting Crows" and Janet Starner is the coordinator of the group. Here is a message from Janet regarding this Saturday's upcoming work session at the Crow.

"Our next work session is on Saturday, March 25, at the Quilted Crow, from 10-ish to as-long-as-you-can or 4:00PM, whichever comes first. This time we will focus on moving toward the completion of the many projects we have in the works. I have encouraged the group to
  • bring along any blocks you have completed, no matter the pattern, and then we can see what we have.
  • bring your sewing machine, small mat, rotary cutter, etc. if you plan to be sewing.
  • bring any of the blue/red + white squares you have completed using the donated 5" red/blue squares that we got from Judy and that we distributed last week. Remember that we agreed to trim them all to 4" squares. We can put up the design board and play with arrangements. If you have a good pattern using 4" squares that you think would work for a top, please do bring it!
  • bring along any ideas about our Memorial Day presentation ceremony, plus any information about contacts outside our group who can help us plan and execute that presentation.
We will have all manner of different jobs to do--ironing, cutting, designing, planning, thinking . . . I will bring the quilts in my care that we have completed so we can all see what we have at this point, and let's just talk, have fun, and sew! Hope to see you on Saturday."

The Quilted Crow is proud to be an official sponsor of QoV, whose mission is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.  To visit the Quilts of Valor home page and learn more about the organization, either click the image above or click HERE.

Please remember that everyone reading this is more than welcome to stop by the shop and help with this great cause!
