Collage Basics - Emily Taylor's Parchment Pressing Technique

This beginner's class will introduce students to the technique of Collage Quilting. This is the most fun you will have with your fabric! We will do a mini dive into Color Theory –Color Families, Value, Temperature and Contrast. You will then use these principles as you make your fabric selections for your project. You will learn how to take your pattern, create your template, select your fabrics (more is better), create your value sets and then create your piece! Many students will finish or almost finish their piece and we will discuss background options to complete your composition.
You will choose one of four birds, a Swallow, a Quail, a Duck, or a Raven (shown below) from Emily Taylor's book.
