Catching Up
10 May 2012
Things have certainly been hopping here at The Quilted Crow. Our Feedsack Frenzy is still going on – I can hardly keep the feedsack fat quarters stocked. At 12 fat quarters for $20, those feedsack fats will be gone in no time!
We’re also getting a lot more fabrics in. It seems like the UPS guy is always stopping by and bringing us something good. Check out these adorable flannels that just arrived! After getting the news that I’m going to be an aunt for the first time, I’ve already got lots of sewing projects planned, and I think these are just perfect for some receiving blankets. Now I’m just (im)patiently waiting to find out if I’ll be getting a niece or a nephew.
Our Friendship Triangle Exchange is still going on and strong. We’ve swapped thousands of triangles and more arrive every week. Quick reminders about the swap:
- Make sure there is good contrast between your fabrics – it’s easy to tell which fabric is your “light” and which is your “dark.”
- Use only 100% cotton fabrics (batiks are ok) but save the flannels, homespuns, and any fabrics with a finish for a different project.
- Use 2” Half Square Triangle paper or another brand (Triangulations is good) to ensure accurate blocks.
- Cut your triangles apart, but DO NOT press or remove paper.
- Keep like triangles together in stacks or separate baggies when returning them to the store.
- Have fun! And remember we’re always here to answer any questions you have about the swap. Call (610) 379-4700 or email qcrow@ptd.net
Other shop reminders – we will be closing early on Thursday, May 17 at 3:00pm. We will be closed Saturday, May 19 and Memorial Day, Monday, May 28.
Happy Quilting,
Heather
